Rodeo and Christ

Over this past summer, I was given the chance to work with many junior high school rodeo athletes at a Rodeo Bible Clinic. This opportunity allowed the athletes to develop event techniques as well as grow in faith with the Lord. On my behalf, the clinic opened my heart too much more than rodeo. Spending the nights over a campfire discussing Biblical stories, worshiping the Lord, along with talking through situations in rodeo and life where the Lord plays a role allowed me as a leader, to see these athletes on a personal and spiritual level. Through it all, I came to the realization that these 10-13 year olds were talented beyond measure. Throwing ropes on dummies and catching nearly 97% of the time. God is great, and I could see him working through each and every cowboy and cowgirl.

Towards the end of the clinic, I got chance to speak one on one with the clinic director’s son. He discussed the importance of Christ in his life and all the accomplishments that he has achieved because of his unfailing love. He also informed me that over the past year he began to take Christ’s love for granted and put down his Bible. It wasn’t until he attended “FOREVER COWBOYS” clinic directed by Allen Bach, that he realized that he had completely given up on the Lord. Over the few days of the clinic, he began to pick his Bible back up. He has now made a complete 180 and is now living fully for the Lord.

God is amazing in everyway. I encourage you to put your faith in the Lord. Read His word, Love His word, and begin to Live out His word.
